The ancient Goddesses of Britain who gave the land her name were Brigit and Ana, which became BrigitAna - Britannia - Britain. The album is called The Wheel of BrigitAna in order to link the Goddesses with the name of our land. The song cycle was written in Glastonbury between 2000 and 2003 by Sally Pullinger. The Wheel of Ana was originally created by Kathy Jones, who has written many books on ancient British Goddeses, and is the initiator and co-founder of the Glastonbury Goddess Temple. VocalAna is a group of goddess-loving women which includes some Priestesses of Avalon. Sally started the group with two friends in 2001, and now this little Goddess choir consists of twelve women, including our drummer, Lydia Lyte. This album is dedicated to the Lady of Avalon, to Morgana-la-Fay, and to Kathy Jones, who has done so much to bring the Goddess back into our lives. Special thanks go to Jana Runnalls for her patience and the special vocal expertise she brought to the engineering. |
